PostSubject: Still...nothing!   Mon Apr 16, 2012 4:52 pm

On Friday, the loan officer put me off, saying we couldn't close 'til this week.
The seller was to fax her info to the credit union--she did. Insurance agent faxed my insurance dec page Friday.
The seller called and asked if I've heard from the credit union. Nope.
I waited patiently...the loan officer had to gather the info and forward it to underwriting.
I waited until noon AZ time.
I called and left a message...no reply.
My wife called me at lunch asking if she should come home for lunch to sign the docs.
It is now 2:50. I will wait til 3pm, a full, respectful 3 hours from my last call.
I realize they must be busy with other folks doing deals over the weekend but my deal was there first. Seriously!

I am waiting
My insurance agent is waiting
The marina is waiting
The seller is waiting
The sailboat shop broker is waiting
My wife is waiting

I have to be patient or the loan officer could funk up the entire deal for me.

When it is all done, I will write (we know I can write) the toughest, non-personal, professional lamblasting summary of the entire terrible experience in such painstaking detail that it will take them 30 minutes to read. It is entirely possible that she is overwhelmed, understaffed, and gets no response from her underwriting team. I doubt it, but want to give the benefit of a doubt. If this were not so sad, pathetic, disrespectful, and irresponsible, it would be laughable. In any case, I will take action and I want a response. Afterall, as a member I have a say in the credit union--I think.

No less than 5 times in the past 3 days, I've thought of calling the deal off. Never experienced anything so unprofessional.

Have several biz calls to make, then one to the loan officer. No

Sometimes business grinds slowly.

My banker is a friend of mine that used to work for me when he was going to college. I borrowed the cash to purchase Sugar Bee, and that went smoothly, but now that the boat is here, I have invited him over a half dozen times to see the boat, and he is blowing me off.

Usually a banker wants to see what he is loaning on before the loan. I can't get him to come see it after the loan. Go figure.

Sorry about the wait (and the weight) of all of this.

Your banker sucks!

I do imagine boat loans go south at a greater % than many traditional loans, but she should have told you this, so you could do it another way, if she knew this would take so much time.

I did not use my boat, I used my truck for my boat loan. Took no time to approve.

If I go belly up financially, they can keep the truck, I will sail to Florida and beyond!
