I own a small business and spend what seems like 300 hours there each week. Suffice to say it keeps me busy.
Busy or not, once a week or so, I manage to break away from everything I should be doing, to drive out to the lake, and with a bottle of water in hand, I just sit.
I take notice of the boat, wind, sun, weather, a bug or two should they happen by, birds, people on other boats, people fishing and what have you.
Then, after a short while, time stops. Nothing is important, and I am just hanging out in the cockpit doing nothing.
Might last minutes or hours, frankly, I do not know or care.
The only other place on Earth that does this to me is a whirlpool bathtub. I can sit in one for hours. Doing nothing except listening to the water. Feeling the water.
I guess chaps with whirlpool baths on their sailboats must really tune out. Lol
