Don't know if this info is redundant but here it is anyway. I believe this applies to all of the Clipper crafts.

Your HIN should interpret as follows:

First 3 digits Manufacturer - CLM - Clipper Marine

Next 5 digits Hull # ( example 00799 is hull 799 - mine )

Last 4 digits Date Of Manufacture ( example 0474 is April 1974 - Mine again )
Hope this helps.

In addition an additional M in the HID indicates Mexican manufacture.

Terry

I need to check mine. I cant remember but I am sure I have a 76 hull number. It would be cool to find out the date it was made and where for that matter.

Thanks for the info

Hull numbers were really talked about way back on several defunct CM sites. One guy claimed he had most all the CM database on three computers and wanted to publish it. I offered to and he conveniently got lost.

An intact and non fussed with hull number is important as it is like the vin number on your car. It can help trace a boat if the girl gets lost or stolen. Keep a copy of your hin in a safe place.
