| Haven't forgotten about the furler pics Gary, just don't have it separated yet for good viewing. Took a quick one this morning while I was taking pics of the strut. | |

| Yours is the 27.5 mast?
That would solve my Roller Furling issues.
It is 30 ish feet long, and does not fold well, how would you ship it?

| Our mast is exactly 30' long not including the mast head, just the mast itself.
The furler stay( if that's what it is called) is approximately 33' 7" long from the center of the wire fittings/attachment points. It is still lashed under the boom along side the mast on the trailer and I will have to get it separated for an exact measurement. I know I gained a bit measuring over the boom.
It's sections are roughly 6'6" long so shipping may not be a big issue, just have to check length restrictions for UPS, DHL, etc.
You would need a new stay wire and find someone w/ the press to put the ends on. If I were to use it I would do that anyway. Though the wire looks good at the ends I don't know the age and as we are replacing the rest of the stays I would want the fore stay new as well. Only a 20 mile round trip for us to get the ends pressed but may be different in your locale.
It is a Hood model 705 Seafurl LD

I wonder if there is a difference in boom length between the tall and short rigs. I would think/hope so. Have to measure mine in the morning.

| Our boom is (I swear) 11' 6". After seeing your measurement for Wallace I am second guessing but know what I read on the tape. Going to double check in the morn.
Does Wallace have the short rig though? Then that would make sense.

| Double checked and it is 11' 6". Also got the furler stay separated and took a better measurement. It is 33' 6". Package scheduled to arrive today so I will ask about shipping lengths while at the UPS store. It's the new SS bolts, nuts, washers for the new chain plates, the new tiller angles, etc. Can't wait to see it all together. | |
