More questions:

I need to replace the main and jib halyards. Everything I read indicates to change over to rope and get rid of wire. I tend to agree. This boat has 5/16 line connected to 3/32 wire. Can I use the newer line in 1/4 inch? It has a breaking strength of 2500 lbs. It will also fit in the present sheaves and blocks quite nicely. (New England Sta-Set)

The cabin area has no circulation. Could I put some type of ventilation in the fore deck? I was thinking of the small horn type that fit in 4" deck inspection covers.

Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Russ

I also read about replacing the halyards with line. I imagine it would be okay but I have not done it to my clipper. I know that it works stock as i just replaced all my halyards with new line.

I think a big wind scoop can be used for cooling the cabin. Check out this link as they debate cooling methods.
