Can anyone tell me the best way to remove flaking paint inside my boat,i've scrapped alot off but some won't buge.I am worried if i sand it ,it will eat into the fiberglass.THe previous owner apparently did not clean the surface off before painting.

May have to go w/ chemicals though I hate to advocate their use.

Blasting would be best but availability/cost could be the deciding factors. Dry ice or corn cob blasting mediums would probably do it. Judging by Sanitarium's outside you are interested in doing the job right.

What! Fiberglass is some strong sh!t, sand it.

I completely sanded and or wire wheeled the inside of my clipper using power tools. Its the only way to remove the grime, old paint and dirt.

I say while your at it get a copy of this old boat. Its a marvelous book about fixing an old boat, like our boats.

Good luck as the elbows get sore after a few days of sanding.
