New winch location on the CM21

After much deliberation I finally decided on this location on the CM21 Flush Deck. I built a platform and glassed it to the keel trunk and mounted the winch on top of it facing aft. I then drilled a hole through the support that used to have the winch attached and ran a copper tube through it to feed the keel cable. It works!!

I also replaced the pivot pin/bolt. I dreaded this after hearing stories of the keel falling on the pavement. I was pleasantly surprised. I read an article once that said some of these boats had a balanced keel and the cable was the balance point. Mine is one of them. I pulled the old bolt out without even a wiggle and put in a new one. All the sweat for not.

So here is the new platform for the winch minus final sanding and paint.
