Nice pics. Cool

I like your narrow companionway and the cabin top space it gives you.

One thing I don't like about our sloop is the huge hatch.

I prefer the larger hatch. Really opened up the cabin. Wish I could move that to the aft cabin boat. To do that right would cost a fortuine.

Wow, nice boat. Is it a CM26? It looks like a ketch.

It's a 32.
It is ketch rigged, but most days we sail it as a sloop.

Other than the additional work setting two masted sails, what do you notice different using a mizzen mast? Have yet to experience sailing my sailboat. Winds called it off today. Tomorrow as well from the forecast.

If you were just looking forward, can you feel the sail working behind you?

The mizzen works well sailing into the wind in light to moderate winds. It takes a long time for her to stabilize after tacking. The mizzen tends to slow the tack down as soon as the wind crosses the bow. If your sailing perpendicular to the wind and can set and manage the mizzen it will give you a small boost in speed. In the San Francisco Bay, the winds are more often over 8 mph, usually in the 10 to 15 mph average. At those speeds it is easier to not set the mizzen.

I can't go any faster that 6.5 knots, and I can do that with or without the mizzen, so why set it up? I will tell you that 6+ knots at a 20 degree heel on a narrow boat is the most fun you can have, keeping all of your clothes on.

I sailed Sugar Bee for the first time Monday evening. It was getting close to sunset by two hours. Winds were light at about 5mph. Because it was late and I have no roller furling we went with just the main and the mizen. The boat was not easy to sail as the mizen seemed to negate commands I was sending to the rudder.

I know very light winds are no test, and I really needed a large jib in those conditions.

Anxious to get her out with white caps on the lake.

You sold her!

More like you gave her away to someone who sold her.

Tell us what transpired, we are interested.

Email from Jess

Hello Gary,

We've been in Europe for the past 3 weeks so I'm not sure what has happened with Sea Turtle while we were gone.
We have decided to move up to a newer and bigger boat and donated the Sea Turtle to charity about six weeks ago.
I do not know who the actual owner is since we dealt with the charity and signed the registration over to them.
If I find out I will pass along the forums information. Good luck with your Clippers and thanks for providing this forum
for all us Clipper Marine owners.

Thanks again,

Jess
