I kick myself for not getting the weight of ours last summer when I had the chance. There is a DOT scale south of here. When launch time comes I may see about weighing in then. It would be worth the extra miles to know for sure.

What does the "CB" stand for in the second CM23 description? I realize it is the retractible keel model, but ? CB.

Reference seems to be saying Center Board, like a Mac 26 D, but no Clipper Marine sailboats came with Center Boards to my knowledge. A centerboard does not pivot, it would be one piece that drops through the hull.

You are thinking of a dagger board. Center boards pivot but do not offer any ballast. Some might say that we have a center board and others will call it a swing keel.

I once had someone refer to my boat as a dinghy. Based on which definition you read, if it doesn't have a fixed keel it's a dinghy. I did have to show her that to be considered a dinghy, it would not have any ballast. Since my boat had a "swing keel" it was technically considered a keel boat.

We had a good laugh over it once I stopped being offended by the dinghy reference.
