Practice run for bigger better things to come.

The ice melted away two weeks ago, and it hit 75 today, with a low tonight of
55.
I am going to chance it being an early spring, and the boat goes out this
weekend. At my height of 6'7", the cabin inside this 25' boat is like the room
inside a sardine can, but at least it is sailing.

It has been a long boring winter.

Once I get back from International Falls, I will paint the bottom of SP and replace the Mac on the slip.

Then the Mac 25 goes up for sale.

Unless of coarse you have sold all your cameras by now. Laughing

Insured everything around my Mac 25 today for a million bucks, just in case something goes south. Cost just 113 a year. Insures the slip, other boats, medical should someone get hurt. My Mac 25 is only covered for 5 grand including trailer, which is plenty, unless I get nuts with contents.

Tomorrow I get the proper permits to have a boat on a lake, and I should be good to go.

Went out to the slip this evening and I put out 6 fenders on the dock and fingers in case I forgot how to dock. lol

Touchdown!

Cold rainy day. Miserable really. Chilled to the bone. Forgot the 1/2" lines back at the shop, so I used 5/8" dock lines I had purchased for SP. Kind of overkill for a 25' boat, but it works.

15 HP kicker fired right up on the 90th pull lol

Mast is up, but the boom is still stowed inside, can wait for a nice day.

Two bow lines, one starboard stern line, one starboard spring line, and a line on the port side to pull the boat off of the dock. I have an end slip with a second short finger along the dock entry way.

Today went out and checked for leaks, about half expected to find some water, but she was pretty dry. Some water came in from leaks in the cabin roof here and there from the rain, nothing serious, and easily fixable.

Put the boom on, and mainsail, mainsail cover, adjusted the mooring lines a bit, and she is all ready to sail! There was zero wind today, but still puttering about on the sailboat in mid march with 70's temps is pretty oddly spectacular.

Sounds like you just need a nice day and you are off!! If you are getting the same weather as they are back home in Wisconsin so should be sailing this weekend. Cool

Did not get to sail her this year, before I traded her. I did kicker out on the lake and back when I loaded her back on the trailer. Too bad I went to all the work putting her on the lake for less than a week! lol Also spent $75 bucks registering her for three years! errrr
