Hello all, I'm excited to find this forum.
A friend got his hands on a CM21, having read a few Patrick O'Brian novels and yearning for a sailor's life. He recruited me to teach him to sail and help get his boat going.
It's been exciting, to say the least.
His fine vessel, soon to be rechristened Lilly Pad, has a roller furling jib. When sailing even in a light breeze, a pretty big gap opened between the luff and the forestay. How can we close the gap? Is it just a matter of more downward effort on the halyard when hoisting the jib? Or, is it just the way the CM 21 is? I've had the same problem with my O'Day, while we're on the subject.

sounds like your jib halyard is a little to loose.

Thanks, we tightened down the halyard and it's better.
