I thought I'd conduct a little fun survey - How many of us actually trailer our boats and how many keep her at a marina ??
Personally, I trailer my CM26 about 50 minutes one way to a public boat ramp at the Chesapeake Bay. If I were financially in the position to do so, I think I would rather keep her in a marina just to avoid the raising and lowering of the mast and all that goes with it.
Let's hear from the rest of you!!

I used to trailer to the ramp every time I sailed. It took me 20 minutes to get to the ramp and my wife and I got to where we could step the mast and be sailing in 30-40 minutes. It took almost as long to un-step and get her home. So two hours of our day was spent getting the boat to and from the water and getting her ready to sail to go and out of the water.
We were at a boat show and won 6 months free moorage so we got a full season in the water. We have never turned back. It is so nice not losing 2 hours of our day NOT sailing. We moved into a floating home and keep it right at our back door now.

My 26 sits next to the house. It's 10 minutes to the ramp, probably 35-40 minutes to rig and launch. Another 15 to clear the marina and get far enough up the bay to avoid the shoals. I really like the idea of having her on the trailer. There is a little gated parking lot at the port where I wouldn't have to take down the mast that sounds really appealing!

Just came over from other forum. With my cm21 and the fact the local lake has no marina, I and/or crew were riggin up every sail. About 8 minutes to lake and the rig up maybe 20. Done it by myself but really too much. Last year I tied off to a tree near the ramp and put out anchor to the stern. Could just run out and sail. This year very busy, didn't take it out til august. Boat still there and will leave it a long as possible. Am in Kansas, so after labor day wkend only afew fishermen. So far no problems.

I used to fish the fox river crappie runs! Loved boating on that river. Just launched my Flying Fox in oceanside, ca harbor sunday! It's been 8 years since she was in the water! Going to keep the boat in the harbor.
