| With some experience behind us and lessons learned, I'm calling for a Puget Sound Clipper get together this June 21st. I will plan to be there by 11:00am with the idea of bringing lunch and cruising until dinner time.
We will use the massive facilities in Tacoma as our starting point with the intent of sailing the bay or out into the central sound depending on the winds. This date gives us a mellow tidal swing during the day and is a few weeks earlier when we may expect better wind and fewer ships on the water. There are pictures of the facilities at Tacoma else where on this board. The launch is huge with at least 8 lanes with nice docks. There is limited parking nearby but up the hill is a parking lot that makes a football field look small.
Would love to see other Clipper Marine sailboats as well as any of the other Crealock designed sailboats.
We have 240 registered folks on the board now. If 10% are in Puget Sound, that would be 24 boats. I'd be delighted if we get 6 together in June. Come join the sail!

| Sorry i been gone a lot lately, My oldest just graduated high school, and my work has been a total mess lately. I will not have my 32 out by then, i still have not finished pulling old motor. Already have new power source and all the parts for installation, but unfortunately until i get the old motor out i can not start putting it together. Dang, anyone need a old YSE 12? If i ever get time to take motor out it is free to anyone who wants to come get it.
If i am lucky i might have my 32 out and underway sometime in august. I hope. i already replaced all the interior lights with LED, replace most of the running rigging and rewired the shore power system.
Next step and i have not had time for is remove Yanmar, clean engine room, and paint with a few coats bilge paint white, then install of my re power and shake down cruise.
Funny thing is i expected every thing to be double my budget costs when i bought this boat, but i got every thing on my list so far for expected cost or below. What i do not seem to have anymore is time.

| Great news the budget is not blown (yet). Boats have a way of putting holes in water.
Congrats on the kids out of school.

| Well, looks like maybe a fall get together. I'd be interested in the Yanmar when you get it out... | |

| My truck broke so I won't be hauling out this season. If anyone wants to do some river sailing. I'd love to have another Clipper on the water. | |

| Having just replaced the forward axle on the trailer, I'm in better shape than normal for a road trip. Where would I put in on the river? | |

| There is a great launch near my place. This is the one I have always used. There is a fee but it is also very secure since the sheriff river patrol is also at that ramp. | |

| I'd like an address (approx.) so I can look up the roads from I-5 to the ramp. | |

| Here is the one near my house:

There are a ton of Clipper Marines in the area and I keep meaning to try and contact them about a cruise but I just can't seem to find the time to dinghy around the island and leave notes.
Here is another great site for finding ramps, it works for Washington and Oregon, maybe more:

| I'm planning a long weekend cruise to Beacon Rock on the Washington side of the Columbia the weekend before Labor Day. There are no yacht clubs going there that weekend so there is a good chance I'll get a spot on the docks. Feel free to plop in and tag along if you like. I will probably motor most of the way there to save time since it's a 8-9 hour trek (under power) if the current is cooperative. The docks there are great, the view is stellar (I posted pics https://clippermarine.forumotion.com/t755-cruising) since you sail past some great waterfalls along the way. You can hike the rock or the mountain across the highway if you are feeling ambitious. But just laying around on the docks is good enough for me most of the time. The docks charge a small fee by the foot or you can sit on the hook for free and there is plenty of anchorage room if you choose that option. There is shore power if you need to recharge your batteries and showers that run on quarters. There is a ramp right there at the park if you don't want to make the trek but I believe there are several ramps along the way if you look at that site. Anyone else feels like making the trip, it would be fun to fill the docks with Clippers! | |

| Quarter showers! I have almost filled the plastic tube full of quarters so it must be summer!
The weekend you are talking about would be the 22th ,23rd and 24th. Hmmm. I don't have anything else that weekend. I may take half of Friday off with the idea of driving much of the way and launching either at the park or much closer to the park. Very tempting to have a couple clippers together!
