| I sail in the sound and don't think I can pump overboard anywhere there. I do use the portable. Didn't quite make a week for two of us this summer. Fortunately we were near marinas for the last couple of days. If I had a portable dolly, I would have brought the portable ashore and dumped it mid week. | |

| Anything is possible but do the right thing and install a holding tank. Pumping overboard is not healthy for anyone. | |

| Like Triticum, I also use a portable and dump it at either a marina if possible or into my septic tank at home. I use a non toxic holding tank deodorizer available at your friendly Walmart in the RV department (same stuff I use in our travel trailer) in the holding tank portion of the unit that helps break down the waste and kill any nasty odors. terry s | |

| My family was involved with the local Coast Guard Aux (Long Island NY Great South Bay) and at one point there was a huge crackdown on direct overboard dumping. I remember there might have been fines given out for even having it rigged that way if you were boarded. State laws have gotten extrememly strict so check your local laws carefully. | |

| The owners manuals for Dometic and other marine toilets are available on line. They show how to plumb the toilet with lock outs to be Coast Guard and Internationally compliant. If you can't find it, email me and I will be happy to copy it from my manual. | |
