| http://threesheetsnw.com/jrwave/clippermac/ There are two locations for the winch. On mine it mounts under the cockpit with the cable going through a pulley and then down to the keel. I posted the replacement pulley info from McMaster-Carr here a year or so ago. The winch can be found on EBAY, I purchased the Dutton-Lainson. I think it was the B-1500. Keep your old handle the replacement one is different. I did have the cable replaced by Inland sailing in Sacramento rather than lift the boat or move it backward off the trailer. I have seen people that used an anchor shackle on the keel with a pre swedged cable with the boat in the water. I would also replace the main pivot bolt on the keel. On the trailer this can be done very easily. Simply crank up the winch tight, loosen the pivot bolt, remove the nut and lightly hammer in the new bolt from the other side. Mine was balanced and would actually just hang in place so I replaced all the washers and such with new. My pivot bolt was bent and cracked. Email me at jeffleeoldawg@gmail.com as I have photos of the repair. Also have spare window vinyl, t molding and pinch welt. Check out some of my repairs on the Clipper Facebook site. | |
