Spent time cleaning and polishing everything on the outside of the boat from the waterline up. Not much wind, so we were able to turn the boat around this way and that way with the dock lines only. Advantage of an end slip. All Good. Any day at the marina is better than a day at work.

Our Mac 25 that we sold was the second boat on the docks this year, beat out by a Cat 30. Very nice looking boat with the red sail cover.

When we splashed the Wandering Warrior, we were number three. Number two went to the Mac X with the black cover, owned by the yacht club captain, Berry.

The forth sailboat at the docks goes to another Cat, a 28 footer, that was built in 2008. I believe that to be the newest sailboat at the marina.

Biggest sailboat? That spot goes to our sailboat, they tell me. We have the largest sailboat, and possibly the largest cockpit. The largest cockpit goes out the window when I switch boats in the water to the ketch, which has a reversely small cockpit for the size of the boat.

It is not that clean yet!

I guess I have moved into a community where they do have a few parties. I am not a social butterfly by a long shot. Very nice people, maybe they can bring my wife & I out of our shells.

The cleaning is always very rewarding for the time and work invested. I figure it's like polishing a dusty jewel. Wisconsin land life is hard on them as moss will grow everywhere in no time.

One thing we love about our 32 is the huge cockpit. At 6'3" I can easily lay down w/ room to spare. It is going to be nice for living aboard. 6 people can sit easily in it as well.

Moss? You mean something like this stuff?

Things growing on the hull is not unique to Wisconsin. Number 3 on my list of things to do, after picking up this CM30, is to pull through a Truck Wash and do some hosing and scrubbing. I don't want to be stopped at the state inspection station for transporting wildlife from one state to another. Laughing

Southern California also grows the stuff. Is the auction in California?

I think it's considered Northern California. The boat is on the hard at a marina just down river from Petaluma, Calif. next to someplace called Papa's Tavern

She's the large white boat in the southern corner of the marina yard, next to the boat covered with the blue tarp.

Yes Penny stuff like that, Lichen and Moss. I know it's not specific to WI, just seems like it comes on extra quick there. I am glad that mold is slower to take hold at least in Gone's microclime between the spring fed crick and the hill. It's moist but cooler. Especially in winter.Rolling Eyes
Hey couple of bonuses on that 30 you are interested in are the Dorade vents and the long grabrails on the cabin roof. Wish we had em. I have purchased paires of 4 and 5 hole grabrails to mount on Gone. They will add safety but won't look as nice as the long ones you will have.

Boy, and I thought our boat was dirty, yuk! Are we going to see an after photo of it all spiffed up?

The dirty boats sell at low prices, which has a good side. If there are no blisters under the mold, go for it.
