| I have to replace the thru hull fittings, on the stern of MesquiteBean, for my cockpit drains and my bilge drain, and I need new cockpit drain fittings X2. Does anyone know what type / brand is best for CM & where to acuire them? Many choices on the net have just confused. Need advice from an "old salt" who knows. Thanks | |

| The original thru hulls were plastic of some kind. I think it prudent to go brass as a better replacement.
All the thru hulls on my 32 have been replaced with brass. To my knowledge, all the CM's are not positive buoyancy. In other words, you loose a thru hull, you loose the whole boat.

| I have never purchased them.
West marine is a good place to shop.
May try this link below, may be a better price than West.

I recently ordered Butyl Tape from him and received prompt service.

| Thanks Gary, frelichth, Everett, Floody for the sites! I found a site, http://www.forespar.com/index.shtml, that sells a product called Marelon used in plumbing parts. It seems to be a good alternative to bronze fittings. Strenght, light weight, freedom from corrosion and electrolysis, exceed Marine U.L., ABYC and ISO standards, and the prices are reasonable. They also offer many other Marine products, many related to sailing. Take a look.

| Thanks for the link.
I am in process of re-plumbing both heads and in need of MPT to hose adapters. Good prices on seacocks too.
