i purchased a Kenworth T2000 over the road semi tractor about ten years ago.
I really really really wanted a diesel pusher motor home. Majorly wanted one. However, the only thing stopping me was I already worked fifteen hours a day paying for my toys. Plain and simple, I could not REALY afford one. not one like I wanted.
I did lots of head scratching, and realized what I could afford was not a diesel pusher, but a diesel puller.
A friend had a Kenworth he wanted to sell, but to drive it I needed a commercial drivers license. Something I did not want to bother with, or have the hassle of.
I did some homework, and I determined my state allowed one to have a semi, school buss and a few other vehicles, licensed as motor homes.
I got the proper paper work, made some modifications (minor) and I now have a diesel puller motorhome. It will pull 80,000 pounds up mountains, quick.
What it does not do well, is conserve fuel. I had mine retuned for 20,000 pound trailers, and it still only gets 6.6 mpg.
However, it is a swell ride, that will pull anything I want to hook up to, and there is always two beds, a fridge, stove, head handy.
