| Hello everyone. My name is Jess Stephens and my wife and I live in the San Francisco Bay area. We have a CM 32 with the aft cabin and shoal keel. We sail her on the bay almost every month and some times multiple outings during the month. We were out Sunday in 15 knot winds and making 6.5 knots up to Treasure Island.
Glad I found this place and looking forward to a long relationship.

| Sea Turtle! Your boat is one of the famous ones you find in doing Google searches of Clipper Marine 32.
My Sugar Bee was a neighbor of yours, in the LA area before I imported her to Nebraska this spring. Hal Wenk was the owner. Just splashed mine Sunday. Motored in her, have not put the sails on yet. Still tuning stuff, looking for stuff, and forever cleaning and sorting things.
So glad you have joined in this new venture to provide a forum to Clipper Marine owners.
How long have you owned Sea Turtle?
I will set as a goal, to bring the cabin up to the class of Sea Turtle pics on the Internet I have seen. Very Nice!
I believe I prefer the closet not going to the ceiling, like it does on mine. Seems to open up the V berth a little more. Also lets in more light into the cabin. | |

| Yep, that's my baby ( right after my wife ). We've had her for several years, the previous owners moved up to a larger boat and set off for Baha. I've added about 150 lbs of weight along the keel to keep her from bobbing so much. When we have her painted this fall I will add about 150 lbs of lead plate to the bottom of her keel. She is much to light for the choppy sea here in the bay area. She has the original Yanmar diesel in the engine compartment. We had it pulled last year and completely overhauled by a local Yanmar rep. All of the parts came from England. Also had the exhaust redone to replace the original water elbow and exhaust mixing can. She purrs like a kitten now. We carpeted all of the interior walls and had new slip covers made for the interior cushions.
We seldom use the mizzen up here. The winds are to strong and getting her to tack with the mizzen up is a royal pain. If the winds are light ( under 8 knots ) we will host the mizzen for upwind sailing, otherwise we sail her like a sloop.
I'm working on a new photo album for her and should have it available within a few weeks.
Stay Dry

| Welcome Jess and S/V Sea Turtle. Great to have another 32 on board. Fine looking vessel too. Edit to say looking at the pic again I don't see a forward hatch on the cabin. Is there one? | |

| Well that answers my question about the forward hatch. Thanks Gary. | |
