James Car was a fervent lover of Clipper Marine sailboats, so much so he owned a web site dedicated to their historical place in marine history. The web site is http://www.clipper-sailor.net

Today, I went to that web site, and it was down.

Google no longer listed any piece of it, it just vanished.

Yahoo helped me find it, and GoDaddy helped me find a contact number.

I sadly learned Jim died April 23, 2012 of a heart attack. RIP Jim.

His wife Judy, has graceously agreed, to allow Jim's work, to continue on, through our web site.

I purchased another year of web hosting, and domain name, and Jim's site is back up and running.

I will work at archiving everything on that site, so both sites mirror one another, for content.

Jim's wife Judy, is selling his Clipper Marine 30. It is on the hard, no trailer, in Washington State.

Anyone wanting to purchase this sailboat for $2,000, contact me, and I will put you in touch with Judy.

Belated condolences to Judy and family/friends.

His site is where I originally found and printed the manual for our CM.

Hope his Clipper finds a good home.

His site was most likely not worth the money I put up to hold on to it another year, but I just hated to see it die off. I owe some of my sanity to his site. The Drano site in comparison, about made me crazy. lol

When we first bought our CM his site was a great find. As mentioned that's how I got our manual. I think it's worth keeping up at least long enough to replicate the info here, Judy willing.

The Jim site transferred over to us today, so now we own two Clipper Marine sites. Watch out Trailer Sailors. lol

I went to the place where I change passwords and such, and every new adventure has a learning curve. Boy O boy.
I will try it again tomorrow.

Much as the 30 sounds like fun, I have other things that have priority.

I am in Olympia so am only about 20-30 minutes from Shelton. If someone is interested, I could schedule some time to go look at the 30 and make a report on her condition and take a bunch of pictures. I haven't seen a 30 before but I've spent a lot of time with my 26 and reading about others. I can probably give a pretty useful report on her condition.

That would be great! I have been trying to get the late Jim's wife to send me pics, but nothing yet.
I will PM you her number.

I called her, she is expecting your call. The Previous owner will be helping her sell the sailboat I understand it has standing water in her. Does not sound good.

I too first printed my copy of the manual from clipper-sailor.net. I thought the music that started playing when you logged on there was cool. Looking at the photos of some of the owner's projects motivated me to begin work on my boat. I am sorry to hear that Mr. Carr has passed away. I appreciate his contribution to Clipper owners. Gary, thank you too for the work you have done to keep the site alive for us, and for the work that you continue to do here to keep these great boats and Crealock's other creations sailing the seven seas! (and a lot of lakes too!)
