| I paid five grand for this camera, two years ago. A new model is due out, so now is the time to sell and get the best price as the price drops down lower once the new replacement hits shelves. Sold it for $2900 delivered, less eBay and Pay Pal fees. So about $2700 hits my pocket, the amount I still owe Dano as it turns out. I really hate parting with my best camera, but I am sure Dano also hates parting with SP. Funny how life moves on past us sometimes as we go from one place to another. I am sure I will someday have a better camera, and I am sure Dano will also move on to a bigger, better boat for blue water. Selling this camera, is one more nail in the coffin for my new boat adventure. Last thing to do is the handshake, break bread and pat SP on the ass! Last month, I sold a very nice lens, called a SigMonster. Those funds were going to go towards SP, but my wife got hold of that money and paid bills. Screw that! This money is going to International Falls in the spring (or sooner when the time is right) What did you guys sell to get your sailboats? Bye Bye, D3! | |

| Gary, you'll get another camera and lenses when the time is right. I've posted that I'm on my 15th boat...pontoons, Mirrocraft fishing boats, runabouts, and 3 sailboats. I mostly buy them to repair, use, and sell for a profit. Sometimes I hang on to them a long time. Only 1 was sold at a loss...first time out on the water, the motor blew up. Had to replace an expensive motor. But, all others were profitable. This CM26 was paid for by the profits of my last 2 sailboats, so, luckily, no selling of my other toys to finance her. | |

| I haven't really sold anything to fund our boats per say. However to move into a nautical lifestyle we have sold and given away almost everything. Some things are not missed much. Others are missed deeply and are truely sacrifices. We miss daily our Chocolate Lab, Mojo, who we gave away. Yes it is possible to have a dog on a boat but besides the obvious drawbacks, the jobs we have taken to be able to semi-retire while living aboard is just not condusive to having a dog. We miss all the dogs we have had who have passed on but to give away one of the best while he was/is still alive, was/is one of the hardest things either of us has ever done. We gave up our log home. We rent it to one of our sons, his wife and grandson so we can still visit. It should be paid off next year and we will then land contract it to them. I had always wanted one and we built it ourselves doing everything but dig the hole and build the cupboards. So we cross that off our list and don't miss all that it takes to keep a house and property. Done shoveling snow and mowing grass!! My custom Harley chopper was hard to give up. Especially now that we are in Florida and could have ridden almost everyday of the year. My son inherited it. Our various antique collections are not missed much as we don't have anyplace to display them now. It is also quite freeing to not have so much stuff. I still have my log cabin bar on a piece of land in a valley by a spring. I satisfy my collecting habit by finding old beer bottle openers to display in it. Small and inexpensive. Heck I even found a couple today at a huge nautical flea market. I also collect docklines now. It may be nice in a way to have the means to keep our old things and still acquire the things needed for a lifestyle change. I believe I am happier though w/out all the old stuff. It becomes kind of a rebirth or shedding of the skin. Still miss Mojo though.... | |

| My camera gear was more of a collection, than anything else. The only reason I had a D3 was it was the flagship camera when I purchased it. Another flagship is due out any day now to replace that older model, a D4, but I will sit that $6000 purchase out. I purchased instead, a Nikon D5100, a consumer grade camera, that if it gets wet, I am only out $500. Both cameras will only shoot at the level of the photographer using it, and any DSLR for me is a handful.
I am also selling most of my fifty or so camera lenses. I will keep a couple to make a travel kit out of, something that will be appropriate to store on board for trips. | |

| The buyer just posted very positive comments on eBay, so it is a done deal. Kinda hoped she hated it, and would return it! lol | |
