| Combined Mast length is nearly 60' above the water! Makes a pretty sweet avatar! | |

| What is left to do? Topping lift got left off Mizzen mast, lower mast and attach. While it is down, seems logical to add a LED array to light up the cockpit and decks. I am opposed to drilling any new holes, so I may wait on that. An LED at the top pointed down may be too high. Always something to clean or adjust, locate, assemble, tinker on. Sending 4 hours a day on the boat doing this and that. Sometimes just sitting and enjoying her.

| Sounds like your getting close. I say go for the spreader lights now. Mainly because I want to do the same thing and I know you will do it right. Thus making it easy for me as you will have done the research. | |

| I really hate drilling. Masts have been known to break in half, in high winds, due to holes being drilled.
Today I put a LED solar light on SB. See how I like that. No drilling, no tie in to battery causing a drain.

| I am thinking of spreader lights. If you didn't want to drill they could be mounted on brackets that clamp around the spreader.
I understand not wanting another drain on the battery but when needed/wanted it would sure be nice to light up the top sides.

| But where to run the wires to get them to the spreader?
I will formulate a laundry list of things to do next season, and LEDs everywhere, replacing old fashoned bulbs will be one of them.

| Great plan, sail her a season and see how she feels/what you need for safety and comfort.
I am impressed w/ the LED's lack of power consumption on Seaweed. Cheap simple system. Too cheap in many ways but impressive how good it does for what it is. It has been a good intro to solar power and LEDs. Will be easier for me too built a system for Gone now.
I need to learn the amp/hours/needs equazion for Gone and built the system. Simply can not wait to build it. Some day soon, Time and Money will be One for us and S/V Just Fucking Gone will be just that!!
Sail hard my friends, life is short....
