| In a long day at work, sometimes days pass and I do not get outside once, just grab a shower, sneak a little sleep, and put in another 18 hour day. My wife brings food, or I order in, usually, I get away every other day or so, to run an errand, or just drive somewhere. Just to get away. You know the best way, to get away? My sailboat. I do not need to go sailing, I just come here, read posts, or make a few new posts, and I am ready to serve the public again. In my mind, I clean her, do Maintance, order new things, and just daydream. Makes it all the better when I do get out of town, to the lake. Really helps me stay alive, having this sailboat to fuss over. I am sure many of you guys feel the same way. | |

| That is part of the reason I never looked into shrink wrapping Gone for the winters. Even though I couldn't really work on her, it was great therapy just to climb aboard and hang out, clean off the snow, plan projects and dream of future adventures. I figure how long she was just sitting in the driveway divided by what we paid for her comes out to $100 per month. That's cheap therapy I figure. If we were to part ways today, having never sailed her, she owes me nothing. I am already satisfied. From here on out is all just bonus. I doubt non-sailors would ever understand. | |
